This really depends on how much hot water you use. The more you use, the more you save. Genless estimate a family of four with average hot water use will save around 62% of their current water heating costs vs a traditional electric hot water cylinder, and about 119% if you use a gas system and disconnect your gas completely.
We don't send pushy salespeople. Your quote is done by a qualified plumber, and our aim is to get the best result for you and your family. We look to determine the best place to locate the HWHP taking into consideration proximity to kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms and neighbours. We will talk to you about your hot water usage to select the best option for you and your requirements. We will look at your electrical switchboard to make sure it has space for another circuit and that it doesn't need upgrading. We will answer any questions you may have.
Once you have accepted our quote, we will arrange a mutually convenient time and date to do the installation. We are normally on site between 8am and 8.30am and installation takes between 4 and 8 hours. You should expect to be out of hot water for the day and most of the evening, and without cold water for about an hour. We may also need to turn your power off for around an hour to make the electrical connection.
We recommend servicing your unit every two years to ensure it is running efficiently and to maintain your warranty. A2W offer full service and maintenance of your system.
If extra work is required to install the hot water heat pump, for example if you need your electrical switchboard upgraded, we will talk to you and ensure you have the full picture of costs involved before we commence any work. No one likes hidden costs or surprises when they get the final invoice, and we never do that.
Yes! If you have a cylinder that can't be removed without building work then we will drain, disconnect and leave the cylinder in situ. In most cases we are able to remove the existing hot water system with no problem.
